Mary Elizabeth Kaufman, 81, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born September 6, 1944, in Williamsport, a lifelong resident of the community she loved. She graduated from Williamsport High School in the Business Curriculum, Class of 1962.

For many years, Mary dedicated herself to serving others, working with the Lycoming County Association for the Blind as well as numerous national organizations dedicated to serving the blind.

An accomplished genealogist, Mary devoted countless hours to researching the history of the Kaufman family. Her diligent and passionate research contributed to three published books, preserving her family’s story for generations to come.

In retirement, Mary excelled at crafting. She partnered with her father to bake dog treats, and she crocheted cat toys which she sold at craft shows. It gave her great joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Clifford Kaufman and Rachel (Cheesman) Kaufman, and her sister, Nancy Jean (Kaufman) McEntire.

Mary is survived by her loving cousins and friends, who will remember her fondly. She will be laid to rest at Montoursville Cemetery, resting alongside her family.
