Caroline R. (Preziosi) Legge, 91, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Born July 11, 1935, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Rose Theresa (Rhea) Preziosi. Caroline was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was the beloved wife of Layton S. “Bud” Legge, Jr., with whom she shared 63 years of marriage, before his passing on February 17, 2022. Following Bud’s passing, Caroline missed him deeply, but she continued to embrace life, cherishing her family and the moments they shared, and now she is peacefully reunited with her beloved husband.
Together, Caroline and Bud built a life around their family and raised three children, Kathy A. Confer (Duke Anastasia), Susan E. Collier (Michael), and Jeffrey J. Legge (Laurel Fox), who survive. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Bonnie Gira, each of whom held an incredibly special place in her heart.
Caroline had a large heart and a personality with plenty of spice. She was strong-willed, spirited, and never afraid to let you know what she thought, but beneath that spirited personality was an extraordinarily generous woman with a wonderful combination of strength and tenderness. She had a personality that could fill a room, a heart that always had space for someone else, and, above all, the tremendous love for her family. To her, there was no greater accomplishment or more important role than being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husband, Caroline was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Preziosi, Mary Williams, Josephine Labuski, and Carmella Coup.
A funeral service to honor Caroline’s life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 27 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
