Martin F. Dougherty, 63, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at UPMC Williamsport. He is survived by his partner of over 26 years, Cindy Anderson.
Born November 19, 1962 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Martin F. and Winifred (Purvin) Dougherty, as well as a step-son of the late Leigh Dougherty.
Martin was a 1980 graduate of Williamsport Area High School and was a proud United States Navy veteran. He was a man of many talents, working many jobs throughout his life. He was a welder and worked construction before retiring from PMF Industries.
Martin enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers, making sure he never missed a game. Martin was a carefree guy who made sure to enjoy life, and that outlook became one of the most memorable parts of who he was.
Along with his partner, Martin is survived by five siblings, Betty Houser (Marc), of Montoursville, Patrick Dougherty, of Milton, Winifred Campbell (Donnie), of Linden, and Michael Dougherty, of Williamsport, Kathy Morehead (Keith), of Loyalsock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Martin was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Michelle Dougherty, as well as his two beloved Border Collie dogs, Marcie and Molly.
In keeping with Martin’s wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Martin’s name to the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County, P.O. Box 3232 Williamsport, PA 17701.
