Diane Fitzgerald, 66, of Dushore, died peacefully Friday, May 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving friends and family.

Born April 1, 1960, in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby (Gavitt) Fitzgerald. Diane attended St. Basil’s School in Dushore and graduated from Sullivan County High School. She was a life-long Democrat and was active in local politics. Diane retired in 2023 from Cherry Township, where she was a Supervisor and Secretary for twenty years. Diane also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She also loved reading, enjoying the mountain views from her back porch, and watching her grandchildren with their different activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Tony Norconk) Malkemes, of Lopez, and her children, Ruby and Joseph; her son, Joseph Tuttle, of Las Vegas, NV, and his children Morgan, Tyler, and Zoey; two brothers, Joseph Fitzgerald, of Dushore and James (Leona) Fitzgerald, of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Rita (Edward Bunavage) Fitzgerald, of Tunkhannock; a Special Aunt Cherie Kahn, of Muncy, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends Tammy(William) Bahl, of New Albany and Faye Beinlich, of Muncy.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Robin Keeney Fitzgerald.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at McCarty Thomas Funeral Home, Dushore, 119 Carpenter St. Dushore, PA, with the Rev. Bert Kozen, officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Basil’s Cemetery.
