Grit: May 28, 1933 – Huge West Branch Exposition to Open Next Saturday

Five days of extensive preparation, yet, and West Branch Exposition will be ready to swing open its doors to the public. The Exposition is slated to open at 1:30 o’clock next Saturday afternoon.

In the spacious, beautifully decorated garage at the corner of Penn and East Third Streets, the former Rothfuss garage there will be staged the greatest exhibition of West Branch Valley products and merchandise attempted since the Centennial Exhibition a generation ago.

Under this one roof more than 100 merchants and manufacturers from this section of the state will exhibit their wares and products for the instruction and education of the tens of thousands of people of Central Pennsylvania who are expected to view the exhibit from opening day, June 3 until the close of the exhibition on Saturday, June 10.

Twenty-eight men are now working day and night on the arrangement and decoration of the exhibition headquarters. The task of moving the various displays which will feature the show will begin Wednesday morning. By Wednesday the decorators will be finished and the exhibitors will have their wares ready for display.

Virtually every foot of exhibition space has been contracted for. Exhibitors will come from as far west as Woolrich and Lock Haven and as far east as Milton and Berwick.

The bus transportation exhibit will be shown on vacant lots near the exhibition building and in this all local bus companies as well as those operating into and out of Williamsport are cooperating.
