Helen E. Miller, 99

Helen E. Miller, 99, of Williamsport passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Gatehouse.

She was the daughter of Lloyd and Olive (Thomas) Masser and wife of Walter L. Miller who passed away on April 13, 2015.

The second oldest of 5, Helen, was born March 22, 1927.  She grew up on the family farm in Elimsport, attended a 1-Room School in Elimsport and then Montgomery High School. During the depression her family moved to Newberry and she graduated from Williamsport High School, Class of 1944.

Shortly after marriage, Helen moved back to Elimsport and later in life accompanied her husband to River Woods Senior Living in Lewisburg.  Upon his passing, Helen moved to Williamsport Home Apartments and in recent years, Williamsport Home Personal Care.

Besides being a housewife, great cook, gardener, canner, seamstress, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she worked at Narrow Fabrics in Williamsport, Philco Ford in Watsontown, and Elimsport Elementary School Cafeteria.

At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Elimsport and patriarch of her family tree.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael O. and Susan Miller, of South Williamsport, David W. and Terri Miller, of Montgomery; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon E. and H. Dale Bottorf, of Cummings, Ga. and Kathy A. and Robert C. Snyder, of Liberty, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother David L. Masser of Linden, and two sisters: Mary Alice Holt of Hummelstown, and Virgina M. Meckley of Williamsport.

Preceding her in death besides her mother, father, and husband were one brother, John T. Masser.

An evening visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Elimsport, 16818 State Route 44, Allenwood, PA where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with a personal message from Paster Todd Baker of First Baptist Church of Elimsport, and Pastor George Grossman, Walnut Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elimsport Cemetery.
