Evelyn Amanda (Wenger) Landis, 97, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Riverview Manor, Lewisburg. She was born in Lancaster to Frank and Minnie (Nolt) Wenger on January 17, 1929. She was the wife of the late Paul R. Landis with whom she shared 60 years of marriage prior to his death in September 2009.
Evelyn faithfully served alongside her husband, helping with the beginning of the Beaver Run Mennonite Church, Milton, in the early 1950’s and ministering many years in the church and community. Together they owned and operated Pau-Lyn’s Country Bed and Breakfast, Milton, in their later years. She delighted in serving her guests great meals and making their home “A Restful Haven” to all who entered their doors from around the world.
Evelyn will be missed greatly by her family, for whom she always had open arms and encouraging words. Her desire was that each one would live for the Lord. She testified to the very end of the Goodness of God and was so thankful for His care for her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, two daughters-in-law, Nancy Landis and Joan Landis, two sisters, Mabel Moyer and Naomi Nolt, two brothers, Cloyd Wenger and Lester Wenger.
Surviving family members include three sons, James and Carolyne Landis, Milton, Daryl and Marylee Landis, Milton, Dennis Landis, New Columbia, one daughter, John and Jean Sensenig, Williamsport. There are 15 grandchildren , 4 step grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 10 step great grandchildren.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 9:00 – 11:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00, at Beaver Run Mennonite Church, 36 Derry Rd, Watsontown, Pa. with James Hostetter and Nigel Fulmore-Smith officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service in the Beaver Run Mennonite Cemetery.
