Earle Frederick Jarrett, 93

Earle Frederick Jarrett, 93

Earle Frederick Jarrett, 93, of Turbotville, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born February 28, 1933 in Northumberland County, he was a son of the late Fred and Cleora (Phillips) Jarrett. On December 25, 1952 he married the former Hannah Betz, and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage until her passing in 2019.

Earle’s strong work ethic started at age 9, when he worked on the Menges, Laidecker, and Cotner farms. He enlisted in the US Army National Guard during his last year of high school, and received his North Mont High School diploma during his enlistment. Upon returning home, Earle worked at Mode Craft, Muncy, and later retired from Hackenberg/Carl Haga Chevrolet, Milton, as a car painter and detailer. He always drove a Chevrolet. After retirement, Earle worked at Brooks Funeral Home for over 30 years.

He was a proud, lifetime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville, where he loved talking to everyone on Sunday mornings. Earle served as Fire Chief during the 1970’s for the Turbotville Fire Department, and was a lifetime member of Warrior Run Area Fire Department. He was a former member of Turbotville council.

Earlier in life, Earle loved playing baseball and was a talented pitcher. He enjoyed telling stories from playing on the Watsontown Team, Exchange Greys, and in Louisianna, while he was in the Army. Earle loved the outdoors, fishing and camping; his John Deere collectables; mowing grass; doing jigsaw puzzles and framing them; watching and listening to polka; and rooting on the Philadelphia Phillies. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with family.

Earle is survived by a son, Thomas E. Jarrett, and his wife, Patt, of Stroudsburg; two daughters, Debra E. Webb and her husband, Dennis, and Pamela S. Hendricks and her husband, Jim, all of Turbotville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Jarrett, of Kansas City, and Paul Jarrett, of Muncy; a sister, Barbara Jarrett, of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Earle was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Richard, and William Jarrett; and a sister, Cathleen McCowan.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville, where a memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Erwin C. Roux, his pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
