Charles R. “Charlie” Kline, 78

Charles R. “Charlie” Kline, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at UPMC of Williamsport. He was the loving husband of the late Gail Kline who preceded him in death in 2021.

Born on January 1, 1948, Charlie was a lifelong resident of Williamsport and a son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Kratzer) Kline. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School and later attended Williamsport Area Community College. Charlie proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart. After honorably serving his beloved country, Charlie held several job positions before landing his career as a supervisor for Mid Penn Magazine.

Charlie found joy in the outdoors and in the company of those he loved. He especially enjoyed fishing in Loyalsock Creek, camping with his family, and tending to his vegetable garden. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan who enjoyed watching football and other games, and he was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Ferricks (William); his daughter, Jennifer Kline (Tony); and his son, Jamie Kline (Rachel). He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Tony, Gaven, Amanda, Sammy, Nicole, Lindsey, Paige, Ezra, and Abby, as well as ten great-grandchildren, Aurora, James, Kayleigh, Aaliyah, Ember, Braxton, Kayden, Alannah, Grayson, and Bryson. Charlie is also survived by his brothers, Lester Kline (Judy), Ed Kline, and Bill Kline (Tammy); his sisters, Judy Moyer and Martha Winder; and many nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and gratitude.

Along with his parents and wife, Charlie is also preceded in death by his brothers, Dan Kline, Chester Kline, and Carson Kline; and his sisters, Gladys Forrest and Thelma Kline.

Funeral services to honor Charlie will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
