He went to Lock Haven High School and went onto study at Williamsport Penn Tech.  He worked as a Supervisor of Dying and Picking at the Woolrich Woolen Mills for 45 years.  During his time at Woolrich, he served as President of the Beneficial Association.
In his earlier years, in addition to working at Woolrich, he tended bar for the social club of the Castanea Fire Company and continued to volunteer as a grounds keeper, mowing the fire company picnic grounds.  He loved cooking for the fire company picnic and enjoyed spending time with his many friends associated with the firehall.

He looked forward to cooking and planning the annual family Christmas brunch.
