John J. Keiffer, Jr., 92, of Swissdale, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Born January 20, 1934 in Mill Hall, he was the son of the late John J. and Edna E. (Fenstamaker) Keiffer, Sr.
John was a 1952 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
On December 2, 1953, he married his love, the former Mary Lou Fox, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.
John proudly served in both the United States Army as well as the National Guard.
He was a carpenter with Frank Franek Homes before managing Fin Fur and Feather and then Mohawk Convenience Store. Together with his wife, he owned Two Sons Cycle.
John was a member of Swissdale United Methodist Church.
He served as Cubmaster of Pack 56, Swissdale, as well as on the board of Swissdale Cemetery Association. John was also a member of West Branch Beagle Club.
John was a talented wood crafter, selling his items at both Street of Shops, Lewisburg and Old School Market, Salona.
In addition to his wife, Mary Lou Keiffer of Swissdale, he is survived by his sons, Wade A. (Monica) Keiffer of Lock Haven and Jeff (Cindy) Keiffer of Muncy; five grandchildren: Kristi, Benjamin “BJ,” Ethan, Mallori and Thomas; and eight great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Schrack, Eleanor Crawford, Nancy Carpenter and Pauline Myers.
A private graveside service at Swissdale Cemetery will be held at the convenience of his family.
