Lenna M. Coup, 98, formerly of rural New Columbia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at EverTrue Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
Born December 16, 1927 in White Deer, she was a daughter of the late Alfred M. and Ada V. (Smith) Young. She was married to Raymond L. Coup Jr. for 37 years until his passing in January 1987.
Lenna was a 1945 graduate of Watsontown High School. She was employed at Warrior Run School District working in the cafeteria for over 17 years.
She was the longest and oldest member of Watsontown Alliance Church. At the church, Lenna was very involved serving as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and former president of Women’s Alliance.
Lenna is survived by her two children: Jeffrey D. Coup, of Denver, and Renee F. Richter and her husband David, of Milton; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Olan A., Randall M., and Rev. Leon W. Young; and one sister: Frances A. Young.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday., February 10, 2026 at Watsontown Alliance Church, 1165 8th Street Drive, Watsontown, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Andrew Griffin and her son-in-law, Pastor David Richter, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in Lenna’s memory be made to her church, Watsontown Alliance Church.
