Happy New Year Again!

Happy New Year Again! For those who are curious, I did, once again, manage to pull off Christmas! I don’t know why y’all doubted me! I even had time to relax on Christmas Eve and enjoy some quiet before the chaos. After enjoying the holiday with my family, I got to enjoy some much-needed time off!
Real life resolutions do include, make and stick to a budget (because in this economy, what choice do we have), eat healthier (because the holiday carbs are being felt and seen), exercise more (because I don’t want my heart to hate me, and I don’t want to keel over too early), and finally see if I can stick to a good skincare routine both morning AND night so I don’t look 70 before I turn 50!
I also intend to:
– Stop saying “I didn’t have that on my bingo card” … (I will not succeed).
– Finally throw away the mysterious cords in the junk drawer.
– Stop buying candles until I burn at least three I already own.
– To not Google my symptoms. I will simply ✨pass away peacefully✨.
– Finish one entire cup of coffee while it’s still hot.
– Remember why I walked into a room at least 50% of the time.
– Stop adding things to my online cart “just to look.”
– Actually read the article instead of scrolling to the comments.
– Stop asking people what they’re watching and then never watching it.
– Stop saying “after the holidays” as a vague life plan.
– Stop saving screenshots I will absolutely never look at again.
– Accept that the fitted sheet is stronger than me.
– Stop saying “we should do this more often” and meaning “never.”
– Stop opening the fridge repeatedly as if new snacks might appear.
– Use my reusable bags…and stop buying new ones.
– Stop blaming Mercury retrograde for my own poor decisions.
– Embrace the chaos and call it ✨personal growth✨.
– Finally, to accomplish all the goals of 2025, which I should have done in 2022, because I promised them in 2015 and planned them in 2003.
I don’t know that Jimmy will let us skip an issue again, but the extra time off was nice!
I hope you all enjoyed your New Year’s and that you are making plans for an amazing 2026. I hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year! And may all your problems last as long as your New Year’s Resolutions!
So now, here I sit, a couple of days before the New Year, contemplating what 2026 will bring. My desk is clean, my house is clean, and I’m ready to start the new year with new plans and goals. Some of these are silly, and some are serious, but I think all of them are fantastic goals for the new year!
