Betsy J. “Bets” Bixler, 71, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at her home.

Born March 12, 1954, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Brady “Bulldog” Houseknecht and the late Jean (Rogers) Heincelman. She was a graduate of Hughesville High School and was employed at the Lycoming County Courthouse as a clerk in the Records Retention Office. Betsy enjoyed spending time with her chosen sisters in Card Club. She enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with her daughters and family.

Surviving are two daughters, Ivy Bixler-Montgomery of Muncy, and Emily (Matthew) Bixler of Muncy; two grandchildren, Jack and Estella Miller; two brothers, Jeffery (Anita) Houseknecht of Hughesville, and Keith (Jane) Houseknecht of Picture Rocks; and her beloved dogs, Cubby and Rip; and her three grand-puppies, Lucy, Moe, and Sunny.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Hartman.

In keeping with Betsy’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
