Normalee J. Miller, 87, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at home while surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 9, 1938, in Turbotville, Normalee was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Cohick) Mingle. Her life was one of dedication, love, and service.
Normalee attended Turbotville High School, and dedicated her life to the noble profession of caregiving, a testament to her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others. Her work was not just a job but a calling, as she also provided comfort and care to her family.
Normalee’s heart was always closest to home, where she was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Lynn I. Miller, Sr. Together, they built a family that would be her greatest legacy. She was a guiding light to her children, Lynn I. Miller, Jr., Stephanie M. Vanderlin, Lori A. Williams, and Pamela J. Sanker. Normalee’s love and wisdom will live on through her 14 grandchildren, many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, dear friend, Helen Greklek, and extended family. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including her brothers Melvin, Clyde (Wanda), Gerald, the late Russell “Leroy,” and the late Dale, as well as her sisters Irene Warner, Pauline Aunkst, Maxine Mingle, and the late Delores Stayton. She was also a proud and doting parent to her beloved cavapoo, Holly.
A woman of faith, Normalee was a dedicated member of the Heshbon United Methodist Church, where she found strength and solace in her community and her beliefs. Her zest for life extended beyond her family and faith. She coached softball for 18 years at Old Lycoming and Hepburn, and was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge where she held the highest degree. Normalee also enjoyed cooking and canning. For years she spent many hours canning delicious apple butter, pickled beets, peaches and tomatoes. She also enjoyed passing this skill to her family, and always kept candy dishes throughout her home for all to enjoy.
