Harry R. Sennett, 93, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully August 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy L. (O’Brien) Sennett on September 7, 2024.
Born September 7, 1931, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late George and Maud Sennett.
A 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School, Harry served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War. He later retired after 30 years of employment as a crank shaft operator from Textron.
Harry’s zest for life was evident in his many interests, which ranged from the simple joys of maintaining his lawn and shrubs to tinkering around his house. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for baseball and softball. He was always proud to have played ball at Original, the birthplace of Little League baseball.
Known for his steadfastness, Harry’s stubborn streak was a source of gentle amusement to his loved ones. Once he made up his mind to do something, nothing could deter him. Above all, Harry’s love for his family was the most defining aspect of his life as he took great joy in being “Pop.”
Harry leaves behind, two loving sons, Michael Mummey and Steven Sennett (Ruth) all of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Michael Mummey II, Tiffanie Cupp, Jennell Lentz (Jason), Zachary Sennett (Nicole) and Courtney Sennett; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Aurora, Lee and Max; a great-great grandchild on the way; a son-in-law, Earnest Lewis Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Lewis and seven siblings.
A funeral service to honor the life of Harry will be held 11 a.m. Thursday August 14 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with military honors. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Sanders.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the 100 Hall at the Williamsport Home for the exceptional care provided.
