Bernice M. Hessler, 92, of Muncy, died Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Valley View Nursing Center. Bernice was the wife of Glen H. Hessler who preceded her in death on December 17, 1979.

Born September 2, 1932, in Lairdsville, she was a daughter of the late Chalkley and Elsie (Harding) Houseknecht. She was a graduate of Hughesville High School and was employed at Montgomery Mills, until its closing. Following that, she worked at the Lycoming Mall. Benice was a member of the Pennsdale Senior Citizens group at Pennsdale Methodist Church, and a member of Huntersville United Methodist Church.

Earlier in her life she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Bernice was known for her needlework and liked to embroider pieces for her family and friends. She was always available for her family. She often watched her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was quick to give candy treats to anyone at her house.

Surviving is a daughter, Connie (Stephen) Hauser of Muncy; a son, James (robin) Hessler of Muncy; a daughter-in-law, Katherine Hessler of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Wendy (Paul) Shomo, Bobbie Jo (Randy) Wolfe, Eli (Stephanie) Hessler, Zeke (Leeann) Hessler, Jed Hessler, Megan Myers, and Eric Hessler; step-grandchildren, Jenn (Clarence) Newcomer, and Nick (Ashley) Hauser; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

In addition to her husband Glen, Bernice was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hessler.

In keeping with Bernice’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial next to her beloved husband Glen at Webster Cemetery.
