Wiletta M. Prowant, 95

Wiletta M. Prowant, 95, of Williamsport and formerly of DuBoistown, passed peacefully into the Lord’s arms, Monday, July 7, 2025 at the Williamsport Home.

Born December 13, 1929, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Maude (Hoffer) Dibble.

Wiletta was a 1947 graduate of Williamsport High School and married the love of her life, Wendell E. Prowant. Together they shared 61 years of marriage before his passing on December 11, 2009. Her greatest role in life was making her house a home and raising her children.

Wiletta attended Faith Wesleyan Church and was a lifelong member of the former Memorial Baptist Church where she spent 83 years helping in all areas of the church. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing with the Swinging Bees & Honey. Wiletta enjoyed sewing, tracing her family history, and the activities and gatherings within her apartment complex.

Surviving are six children, Gary Prowant (Cindy) of Lansdale, Deborah Pfirman (Steven) of Nisbet, Roger Prowant (Cathy) of DuBoistown, Carol Poeth (Mark) of Montoursville, Dotty Diffenderfer (Charlie) of DuBoistown and S. Greg Prowant (Lesa) of Horatio, AR; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Pfirman, and three siblings, Floyd and Leslie Dibble and Violet Askey.

Wiletta’s family will host a memorial service in her honor at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

A graveside service to honor Wiletta’s life will be held privately in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in Wiletta’s name to Camp Victory c/o Camp Dost, in honor of Hannah Morris at 58 Camp Victory Road, Millville, PA, 17846.
