Daniel Carson Blair, 69

Daniel Carson Blair, 69, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 26, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Born on July 20, 1955, in Syracuse, New York, Dan was the second of six children of the late Robert Eugene Blair and Mary Jennie (née O’Dwyer) Blair. He spent most of his life in Williamsport, graduating from Williamsport High School and retiring in 2021 from the maintenance department at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Dan is survived by his siblings: Roberta Updegraff, wife of Mark E. Updegraff of Linden, PA; Edward Carl Blair of Williamsport, PA; and Francis Joseph Blair and his wife Susanne (née Kraft) of Rahway, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Edward Blair of Williamsport; his sister, Genevieve Ann Ricker, wife of David Ricker of Montoursville, PA; and his sister-in-law, Pamela June (née Walker) Blair of Williamsport.

Uncle Dan was dearly loved by his extended family, including 11 nieces and nephews, 16 grand-nieces and nephews, and five great-nephews and nieces. He delighted in choosing Christmas presents for all those many nieces and nephews, a tradition that reflected his love for family and giving nature.

Known for his keen sense of humor, generous spirit, and kind heart, Dan was a friend to many. He loved to bowl and proudly earned a few trophies over the years. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Dan cheered passionately for his team each season. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, which he celebrated by organizing a neighborhood barbeque filled with laughter, food, and fireworks. Dan will be remembered for his joyful presence, steady friendship, and generosity.

The family of Dan will hold their Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Covenant Central Church, West Fourth Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. All who knew and loved Dan are invited to attend and share in remembering a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Dan’s memory.
