Mary B. “Bunny” Steinbacher, 73

Mary B. “Bunny” Steinbacher, 73, of Collomsville, passed away Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025, at her home. She was born on January 6, 1952, in Williamsport, one of 13 children, to the late James J. and Doris (Nierle) Kase.

Bunny was a graduate of Bishop Newman High School, where she won the “Miss Congeniality” award. She married Michael E. Steinbacher, who survives, on August 25, 1973. They were together for 51 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bastress. Bunny was a devoted and faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ.

As a stay-at-home mom, she adored her children and especially doted on her grandchildren, Colten, Kalvary, Kassidy, and Ella Grace, who were the light of her life. Bunny was a favorite babysitter for many families in the area as well; she cherished her time taking care of so many and loved them like her own. She enjoyed the QVC channel, shopping, drinking her tea, and playing cards with her sisters. Bunny was artistic creating and painting ceramics and writing poetry for her family on holidays and birthdays, expressing her love with her written words. She was a prayer warrior and very giving, loving individual, who welcomed everyone in her presence.

In addition to her husband, Mike, and grandchildren, Bunny is survived by her son, Bryan (Angela) Steinbacher of Allenwood; two daughters, Heather (Shane) Corter of Williamsport; and Brooke (Regis) Newland of Pittsburgh; seven siblings, Ronald Kase of Myrtle Beach, SC; Robert Kase of Trout Run; Gerald Kase of Indianapolis, IN; Ann Marie Kase of Mendham, NJ; Cynthia Steinbacher of Williamsport; Christine Kline of Indianapolis, IN; and Roseanne Kirby of Williamsport.

Bunny is preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Tom and Jim Kase, Eilaine Neidig, Francis Butters, and Marcia Bishoff.

Bunny’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Father William Corcoran on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11am from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5923 Jacks Hollow Rd. Williamsport, PA 17702. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing from 10am-11am on Saturday prior to Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Bunny’s name to the Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o UPMC Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Michael and his family wish to recognize and deeply thank Father Bill, UPMC Hospice, Dr. Pagana Dr. Bernard Steinbacher, Cynthia Steinbacher, and Diane Persun for their loving, excellent, and compassionate care they provided to Bunny.
