Mary “Mick” Miller, 80

Mary “Mick” Miller, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at The Gatehouse in Williamsport. Born on January 31, 1945, in Jersey Shore, Mick was 80 years old at the time of her passing.

A proud graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School, class of 1962. A lifelong resident of Jersey Shore, Mick dedicated 39 years of her life to serving as a dietary manager at Jersey Shore Hospital, retiring in 2011. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family and community.

Mick was a faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jersey Shore, where she actively volunteered her time making meals for fellowship gatherings. Her warm hospitality extended beyond the church as she frequently hosted family gatherings at her home, creating lasting memories for all who attended.

In her leisure time, Mick found joy in simple pleasures. She adored her many pets over the years and had a fondness for Pepsi, ice cream, and shamrock shakes. Music filled her life with happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with her family and loved ones.

Mick was preceded in death by her parents, Clair E. and Norma (Gnau) Marks; her first husband, Edward E. Kistner; her second husband, Russell C. Miller; and her brother, C. William Marks. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Kistner (Rob Russo); her grandchildren, Corey White and Jenna White; and her brother, Carl Schaefer.

A celebration of Mick’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore, with Pastor Kerry Aucker officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the teams at UPMC Home Health and Hospice and to the staff at The Gatehouse for their exceptional care and compassion during Mick’s final days.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests that donations be made in Mick’s name to the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Jersey Shore Share and Care at 229 S. Broad St. Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
