John H. Marquardt, Jr., 79, of Williamsport, passed away at We Care At Sycamore on February 26, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
John was born February 6, 1946, in Williamsport, son of John H. (Jack) and Eleanor M. (Schneider) Marquardt.
He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and Robert Packer Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy. John worked as a Respiratory Therapist for many years, and he taught respiratory therapy at Williamsport Hospital. He was also in management for 20 years before retiring.
John was a member of the Muncy Lions Club, Muncy Valley Moose, and Republican Club.
In his younger years, John played baseball at The Original League field, and in later years was a pitcher in City League Softball.
John loved carpentry and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer – even sinking a hole-in-one at White Deer Golf Course!
A huge fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, John watched ‘em Fly, Eagles Fly to their first Super Bowl victory in 2018 and was thrilled to see his team soar once again to clinch their second title this year on February 9th.
Most importantly, John cherished time spent with his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife Ann of 47 years is their daughter Amber Thomas and grandson Cullen of Williamsport; sister Penny (David) Estes of Williamsport; brother Robert (Jeanne) Marquardt of Montoursville; brother-in-law Robert Hess of Jersey Shore; and nieces and nephews: Nathan, Elizabeth, Erin, Erica, Michelle, Corey, Sarah and Brandy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister-in-law Dorothy Hess.
In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or viewing. The family plans to host a life celebration during the summer.
