Thomas E. Long, 87, of Montoursville, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born November 5, 1937, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Ray and Alma (Share) Long.

Tom retired from the former Bethlehem Steel after having worked there for over 30 years. He was a very caring and devoted family man who enjoyed helping those in need. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed coaching little league baseball, woodworking, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Ann (Lockard) Long of Montoursville; three children, William (Susan) Long, of Medford, Ore., Beth (David) Jones, of Anchorage, Alaska, and John (Julie) Long, of Williamsport; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Long; a sister, Evelyn Miller; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Long.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 369 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. James I. Bartlett officiating. Friends may call from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
