David Richard Albertson, 62

David Richard Albertson, 62, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport, after a valiant battle with cancer. David was a long-time resident of Connecticut, for many years enjoyed the sunshine of Stuart Florida, and after his cancer diagnosis moved to Jersey Shore to be surrounded by the love and care of his sisters. David’s life was a testament to the power of positivity, resilience, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Born May 3, 1962 in Springfield Massachusetts he was a son of the late James P. and Pauline V. (Pokropinski) Albertson.

David graduated from Synergy High School in East Hartford, Connecticut, in 1982. He was a proud member of the Polish American Club in Windsor Locks, CT.

David’s natural skill with his hands gave him both joy and a sense of purpose while working alongside Matt Loncar at Homecrafters.

His passion for sports was undeniable, and he was a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox, the UConn Huskies and Miami Dolphins, following their triumphs and tribulations with undying loyalty. An avid outdoorsman, David found solace and joy in nature. He could often be found with a fishing rod in hand. In recent years, his love for the outdoors translated into leisurely bike rides around his Florida town, where he embraced the warmth of the sun and the camaraderie of his community.

David’s love for his family was the cornerstone of his existence. He was a devoted father to his two children, Nicole and David, who were the pride of his life. He especially cherished the memories he created from the sidelines as a coach during their youth sports days.

A true friend to all, he would give anything for anyone, always ready to lend a hand. His friendly, outgoing nature, love for animals, and fondness for outdoor moments—especially under the stars around a bonfire—will be remembered by all who knew him.

Surviving are his two children, David Albertson of East Hartford CT and Nicole Albertson (Sam Digby) of Holly Springs, NC and their mother, Christine Albertson; his cherished sisters, Sandra Rivera (Luis) of Auburn, NY, Brenda Malenfant (Dennis) of Jersey Shore, Joann MacDonald of Colorado and Barbara Hansen of Jersey Shore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Albertson, his twin brother, Daniel Albertson, and his uncle Joe Pokropinski.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
