Diane Elizabeth (McGee) Calvert, 82

Diane Elizabeth (McGee) Calvert, 82, of Trout Run, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Dillsburg. Her passing on Valentine’s Day seemed fitting for a woman who had so much love in her heart for her family and friends.

She was born in Williamsport on May 15, 1942, a daughter of the late Hugh E. Sr. and Elizabeth (Kranz) McGee. She was the wife of the late Walt Calvert; they celebrated 59 years of marriage. To all who knew them, she and her beloved Walt were a wonderful couple.

Diane was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She spent her career as a librarian, and as an information processor at Brodart and Northern Central Bank. Diane loved doing puzzles, the more complicated the better. She was a prolific reader, who enjoyed vacationing in Key West. She relished playing board and card games with family and friends or simply being in their good company.

Diane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, who enjoyed playing games with her. They would refer to her playing technique as “Nana Rules,” which meant they had to really earn that win and no playing nice.

In her kitchen, Diane was a magician, whipping up delicious meals for her family and any friends who happened to stop by. Everything she made was mouth-watering. And she made a mean plate of ribs.

Diane was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Cascade Township prior to its closing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Calvert of Interlachen, FL, and Daun (Steven) Klarevas of Fairfax, VA; her son, Daniel (Melody) Calvert of Carlisle; five cherished grandchildren, Bowie Miller, Calvert and Zoe Klarevas, and Joseph and Emilia Calvert; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hugh E. Jr., Joseph J., and Gerald A. McGee.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations be made in Diane’s name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 or http://www.lycomingspca.org/donate.
