Jane Elizabeth (McNutt) Dauber, 91, of DuBoistown, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at The Gatehouse after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side.
Born August 18, 1933, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anna (Wilson) McNutt. Jane was a proud graduate of the former South Williamsport Junior-Senior High School, class of 1950, where she remained active with her class. She married Robert E. Dauber in 1952 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in 2011.
She retired from the PA Bureau of Employment Security after many years and was an active member for over 75 years at DuBoistown Church. Family was always Jane’s primary focus. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jane’s care for others also extended to her community, formerly volunteering for over 25 years at the former Williamsport Hospital. Because of her husband’s involvement with the Korean War Veterans, she also assisted in writing and mailing cards to the VA Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, making peanut butter eggs for her church, and mints for special occasions.
She is survived by her son, Robert G. (Melissa) Dauber of Oval, and daughters Janet (Tom) Haney of Macedon, NY, Tina (Randy) Knipe of Linden, and Diane (Richard) Burns of Loyalsock Twp. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Robert T. (Tammy) Dauber, Jeffery (Sandra) Dauber, Christopher (Kelly) Dauber, Michael Goodbrod, Casey (Ann) Knipe, Derek (Shelby) Knipe, Valerie (fiance’ Peter DiPrinzio) Burns, and Andrew (Allison) Burns. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Jerald (Cheyenne) Dauber, Melissa (fiance’ Christopher Leonard) Dauber, Kadence and Kaden Dauber, Cael and Ty Dauber, Landon, Ava, Addison, Adam, Asher, and Ally Knipe, Rory and Palmer Burns, Robert (Miranda) James, Shiloh Clemens, and Lucia Mignano; six great great-grandchildren, and special friends, Walter and Cindy Steinbacher.
Along with her parents and husband, Jane was also preceded in death by her siblings Mary Carpenter, Thomas W. McNutt, and Lois McNutt, and a great-grandson, Seth Shea.
A viewing will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. at DuBoistown Church, 133 Summer St., South Williamsport. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
