James E. Weaver, 84, of Montoursville died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his home.

Born July 8, 1940, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy (Miller) Weaver. James received a bachelor’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University, later going on to receive a master’s degree in administration from Bucknell University. He proudly taught in Shamokin for six years before becoming an elementary principle in Sullivan County and Muncy. He retired in 1994 after 32 devoted years in education. He and his wife, Barbara L. Weaver, shared 10 wonderful years of marriage.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one son, James C. Weaver, of Lake Peekskill, NY; one daughter, Diane E. Robinson, of Reading; three stepdaughters, Jami Cordell, Tonja Greider, and Carmen Klotz; one stepson; Samuel Gardner; three grandchildren, Vaughn Robinson, Jerome Weaver, Marli Robinson, six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Long) Weaver in 1982; his second wife, Dixie (Fry) Gardner in 2012, and a brother, William Weaver.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
