Raymond H. “Ray” Hurst, 83, formerly of Eagles Mere, died Friday, November 15, 2024, at Lehighton Place, Williamsport. Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen L. (Little) Hurst on June 17, 2000, and his second wife Catherine F. (Shrimp) Hurst on March 8, 2017.

Born December 10, 1940, in Eagles Mere, he was a son of the late Edward and Christie (Phillips) Hurst. Ray attended Sonestown High School. He retired from the Powell Valley Marina, Lafollette, TN, in 2021. Ray loved traveling in his motor home, camping, and boating in Tennessee. He loved racing and was a NASCAR fan. Ray spent many years in Tennessee, both in his youth and adulthood. Ray cherished time with his family.

Surviving are two daughters, Penny (Lonnie) Fawver, of Liverpool, and Connie Hipps, of Williamsport; a son, Bryan (Lilia) Hurst, of Pittsburgh; 12 grandchildren, Heather (Avery) Moore, Tyler (Cheryl) Rinker, Drew Rinker (Kristin Dissinger), Ginger (John) Fowler, Mindy Reichelderfer, Justin (Rachel) Reichelderfer, Brandon (Ashlinn) Hipps, Melissa (Jason) Peluso, Joshua Kapp, Patrick Hurst, Brittany (Matt) Walker, and Brandi Hurst; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his wife Helen, and his wife Catherine, Ray was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Rae Hurst, an infant daughter Duronda Hurst; three brothers George, Charlie, and Ralph Hurst; and two sisters Emma Jane Hurst, and Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Hurst.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Eagle Mere Cemetery, Eagles Mere, Pa., with Rev. William J. Hargenrader officiating.
