Gary L. Jenney, Sr., 74, of Montgomery, died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at his home. Gary married the former Connie Wanamaker on July 17, 1971, recently celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Born June 8, 1950, in Williamsport, he was a son of Norman and Betty (Tuxford) Jenney. Gary attended Williamsport Area High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., serving in Vietnam. He retired in June of 2012 from Axeman Anderson Co., of Williamsport where he was a welder for 37 1/2 years. Gary was a life member and former commander of the Veterans of the Vietnam War, a life member of the Marine Corp. League, a life member of the V.F.W. Duboistown, and a life member of the Vietnam Verterans of America. He participated in Figure 8 races at the Lycoming County Fair for many years. Gary’s favorite pastime was spending time with his dogs, Shadow, MoMo, and Angel. He loved cruising and tinkering with cars.
Surviving in addition to his wife Connie is a daughter, Judith and husband David Figueroa, of Savannah, GA; a son, Gary Jenney Jr., and wife Cierra, of Newport; three step sisters, Cynthia and husband Christoher Zellers, Christina and husband Glenn Collier, and Stacey and husband Charles Branning; four grandchildren, Brady Jenney, Dominik Colyer, Garrett Jenney, and Mia Jenney; four great grandchildren, Kathrine Jenney, Alexandra Jenney, Cameron Jenney, and Anistyn Jenney; two step grandchildren, Kylor Figueroa, and Felicia Figueroa.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St. Hughesville, Pa., with Chaplain Michael Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, with military honors accorded by various veteran’s organizations. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
