Lee R. Pauling, 82

Lee R. Pauling, 82, a resident of the Valley View Nursing Center of Montoursville, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the UPMC Williamsport Hospital. Born February 16, 1942, in Montgomery, Pa., he was a son of the late John and the late Carrie (Hawn) Pauling.

Lee was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery Area High School after which he attended Lycoming College and in December of 1963 he started his career in the US Air Force.

After 28 years of service in the US Air Force Lee retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. During his service time Lee spent several years as the operator of the hyperbaric chamber located at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland training future pilots for high altitude flights. After retiring from the US Air Force Lee spent ten plus years working for the US Postal Service.

Lee enjoyed hunting, his collection of long guns, taking solitary walks, watching Jeopardy, reading books, and photography.

Lee is survived by brothers, Roger L. (Maureen) Pauling, of Manalapan, NJ, Jay K. (Peggy) Pauling, of Montoursville, PA., Donald H. (Doris) Pauling, of Lowell, MA, J. Glenn Pauling, of Enola, PA., Paul H. (Elaine) Pauling, of Salisbury, MD; sisters, Martha E. (Wayne) Frye, of Vestal, NY, Rebecca A. (Steve) Burrows, of Allenwood, PA.

The funeral Service will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Pastor Joel W. Long officiating. A burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Valley View Nursing Center, 2140 Warrensville Rd., Montoursville, PA 17754 or to The Meadows, 2160 Warrensville Rd., Montoursville, PA 17754.
