Emily R. Wead, 21, of Montoursville, died Thursday, August 22, 2024, at her home.

Born August 23, 2002, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of David L. Wead and the late Betty (McCollin) Wead.

Emily was a graduate of Montoursville High School, Class of 2020, and Lock Haven University in 2023 with a BS in Education. She had a love for teaching and recently accepted a position with Cochran Primary School, Williamsport. Emily was very outgoing and loved autocross racing with Tristian, and time on the water, boating and water skiing. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her nephew Brody.

Surviving, in addition to her father, is a sister, Carissa Wead of Montoursville; a brother, Andrew (Brooke) Wead of Muncy; her significant other, Tristian Shirk of Montoursville; a nephew, Brody Wead; paternal grandparents, Terry (Shirley) Wead of Cogan Station; a maternal grandmother, Judy McCollin of Montgomery; and her beloved dog, Rex.

A public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. A private burial will be held in Montoursville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
