Keith A. Markley, 71

Keith A. Markley, 71, of Williamsport passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport. Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Rose (Steppe) Markley.

Born June 18, 1953, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Richard A. and Arlene R. (Keller) Markley. Keith graduated from Williamsport Area High School, class of 1972. He met the love of his life shortly after, Rose Steppe, and they married on September 26, 1973. Together they settled in Williamsport where they raised their family. Keith was a hardworking man. For many years he owned and operated Keith Markley Logging and also did truck driving for Daily Express and G.O. Hawbaker. He was a proud member of the NRA and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Every summer, Keith would relax and camp on the river lot, never leaving until camping season was over. He found comfort in feeding and watching birds, especially hummingbirds. Keith had a green thumb and grew his favorite flowers. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Jeff Markley (Kelli) of Jersey Shore and Craig Markley of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, and Thomas Markley; and a sister, Kelley Sees of Williamsport.

A funeral service to honor the life of Keith will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Sanders Mortuary.
