David A. Stover, 66

David A. Stover, 66, of Sunbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born March 3, 1958 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Irvin and Myrtle (Bowes) Stover.

He was a 1976 graduate of Lewisburg High School. David worked for Lewisburg School District in the maintenance department. He also worked in transportation with Milton Trans and Excel Homes, and most recently retired from Family Practice Center as a courier.

David enjoyed playing in local 8-ball pool leagues. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and just being outdoors. David was passionate about his Christian Faith and was baptized in 2019.

He is survived by two daughters: Valerie Elsasser and her husband Blake, of Watsontown, and Alisha Buck and her husband Jeremy, of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren: Luke and Noah Elsasser, Ava and Jovie Buck; two brothers: Irvin “Bud” Stover, of Northumberland, and Jack (Linda) Stover, of Lewisburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and his closest friend and companion, Cindy Morris, of Millville.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Richard “Dick”, James “Jim” and Timothy “Tim” Stover.

There will be a visitation held from 10 AM to Noon on Saturday, June 15 at Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, where a memorial service will be held at Noon, with Rev. James Bond and Pastor Ryan Brosius, The Narrow Way Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, David’s wishes were for donations to be made to your local food bank or local charity of one’s choice.
