Ida M. Sanders, 87

Ida M. Sanders, 87, of South Williamsport passed away peacefully May 23, 2024.

Born January 29, 1937, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Wicks) Trembly.

Ida was a proud graduate of Williamsport High School, class of 1955. Her dedication and work ethic were evident in her long-standing career at Shop Vac, where she retired after 42 years of service in the shipping department. Ida was an active member of the Central Baptist Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her love for the simple pleasures in life, such as indulging in her favorite soap operas and keeping informed by watching the news, was well-known among her family and friends.

Ida’s tender loving care extended beyond her immediate family to everyone she met. Known for her nurturing nature, she had a special way of making people feel valued and loved. Her family was her everything, and she reveled in the joy of family gatherings.

Surviving are a daughter Kimberley Ruch (David) of South Williamsport, stepdaughter Sandra Peters (Fran) of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Tressa Rogers, Kristen Sweger, Brandon and Brendan Ruch; eight great-grandchildren Matthew, Mariah, Perry “PJ”, Ava, Hadley, Kinsley, Jannik, Jackson; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ida was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harry R. Sanders in 2008, a granddaughter Meghann Ruch and three sisters, Mary Sullenberger, Florence Marshall, and Anna Seaman.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ida will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Sanders.
