S. Dale Sheets, 86

S. Dale Sheets, 86, of Montandon, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born January 29, 1938 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Stewart and Margaret (Fetter) Sheets. He was married to the former Audra Kay Kleinfelter for 40 years until her passing. On July 29, 2003 he married Lou Ann Harris, and together they celebrated 20 years of marriage.

Dale was a 1958 graduate of Montandon High School. After graduation he attended business school at Harrisburg Area Community College and worked in the family business with his grandfather (J.R. Sheets) and father (S.R. Sheets). Between the three generations they ran the family business for 101 years.

Dale was also a former bank director, merchant and farmer. He was the former West Chillisquaque Township Supervisor and American Red Cross board member; he was also a former member of the Milton Lions Club and the S.A.R. (Sons of the American Revolution). Also, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to support his local community.

In addition to his wife, Lou Ann, he is survived by a daughter: Eva Kay (John F.) Noone, of Bryn Mawr; two stepdaughters: Barbara (Jeff) Romano, of Lititz; Paula Cooper (Bill Keen), of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law: Barbara Sheets; and four grandchildren: Alex and Abigail Sheets, and Trevor and Grace Noone.

Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Sheets.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in his memory be made to the American Red Cross or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
