Hey y’all! I’m so excited for Easter this weekend! I always have so much fun prepping for our annual Easter contest! Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It’s right up there with the 4th of July!
But before I get too far into my article this week, let me ask you a question. Are you ready? Like really, really ready? Are you ready to find out the names of the winners in our Fourth Annual Easter Hunt Contest? OK, if you are really sure…here we go!

Your prizes can be picked up in our office at 280 Kane St. South Williamsport, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., on Fridays we normally close the office around 1:00 p.m.
In case you are curious — the final total was 115 Easter Baskets. There were 59 eggs in the March 13th edition and 56 in the March 20th edition!
We want to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone who entered! Because of all of your counting, we will be making a donation to LAPS! Seriously, y’all are amazing! I received a ton of entries in the contest and can’t wait to continue the tradition next year! Of course, we’ll have another one for Halloween in October too! And as always, thank you to Jimmy for always giving a little extra in these contests! The kitties appreciate it! Especially with kitten season being in full swing!
We still have a few days until Easter, so as you color your eggs and before hide your baskets — wait, do you guys hide the Easter baskets? My mom always hid mine somewhere in or outside of the house and I had to find it. Was that just a my mom thing? There’s a really funny story of the first year she lived in Georgia and learning the hard way that she would have to start hiding Easter baskets INSIDE to avoid melted chocolate — anyway, I’m off track…
What I was saying, was if you still want to have a little extra Easter fun, I found this cool little craft that you can do with the family!
Handprint Easter Bunny
Equipment:
• Scissors
Materials:
• 1 sheet Construction paper (any pastel will do it)
• pink marker (or pink colored pencil or crayon)
• Black gel pen (or pencil or colored black pencil or crayon)
Directions:
Start by tracing a handprint — BUT you have to make the handprint a little fatter than you normally would. If you trace tightly around the fingers, the ears and arms will be super skinny.
Cut out the handprint. Make sure you have a V at the bottom between each finger (rather than a curve).
This next part is optional, but it really helps make the bunny more proportional. Cut a small slit beside the baby finger. You want the bottom of the cut to line up with the bottom of the space beside the thumb. Once you cut the slit, the baby finger will look a bit crooked. So feel free to trim that baby finger a little to fix the shape.
Next, you can fold down the baby finger towards the center to make one of the bunny arms.
Then fold down the thumb towards the center for the other bunny arm. I like to fold them so the two hands “touch” in the middle.
Cut off the middle finger so you’re left with two finger “bunny ears”.
Use a pink marker, pen or pencil crayon to draw the pink parts of the ears. Then draw an oval for the rabbit’s nose.
Using a black gel pen, regular pen or marker, draw the rest of the face – eyes, whiskers and mouth.
Finally draw two little paws at the bottom of the handprint to make the bunny’s feet.
And voila! Your paper bunny is complete!
