Carol Ann Dieffenbach, 84, of Montoursville passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center. Her husband Roger A. Dieffenbach passed away September 2019 having celebrated 56 years together.

Carol was born on February 9, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of Rev. Ralph and Myrtie Miltenberger Hartzell.

She was a 1958 graduate of South Williamsport High School and a 1962 graduate of Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors in Education. Carol retired in 1999 after 33 years teaching at Cochran Elementary School. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Xi Epsilon Tau. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, baking, and word search books.

She is survived by two daughters, Drueann (Brian) Yount, Murfreesboro, TN and Beth (Sam) Jordan, Duboistown; one brother, John (Ellie) Hartzell; six grandchildren, Rebecca (Doug) Packard, Mariah (Mike) Simon, Megan (Aaron) Testa, Erin Kudlik, Hailey Kudlik, Nicole Goodreau; seven great grandchildren, Kayden, Bradley, Cole, A.J., Elizabeth, Gabriella, and Junior.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in May.

The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Carol’s name be made to, Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, D. C.
