Lesly A. Barnhart, 69

Lesly A. Barnhart, 69, of Williamsport, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior February 9, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at home. He fought a very courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. He lived each day as it came, never questioning or complaining.

Born December 24, 1954, he was the eldest son of the late Eugene A. Barnhart and Carolyn W. (Clark) Barnhart Blain. Les was married to his beloved wife Lou Anne (Huff) on July 7, 2012. He was a 1973 graduate of Montgomery Area High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Brigham Young University. Prior to college he lived two years in Ecuador as a missionary.

Les was employed in customer service and management positions at several companies during his lifetime: Data Papers, Inc., Pillings FRP, SEDA CoG, Cromaglass Corporation and BiLo Plumbing. He was most known as the general manager of Cinema Center in downtown Williamsport.

Les grew up on a small farm in Montgomery with his parents and five brothers. He was a Boy Scout leader, troop 419, in Selinsgrove where all four sons earned the Eagle Scout award. He was a member of First Church, Williamsport. He attended Bible Study Fellowship for years where his faith in Christ truly thrived. He had been a group leader at BSF prior to his illness.

Les was fluent in Spanish. He enjoyed all physical activities: running, working out, biking, tennis, ice skating, and skiing. He and Lou Anne loved kayaking and had many wonderful adventures. One of his greatest passions was ballroom dancing, which was how he and Lou Anne met once again, since during their childhood their parents were close friends.

He is survived by his dedicated wife, Lou Anne Barnhart; his children, Nathan (Meg) Barnhart, Celebration, FL; Ryan Barnhart, New Cumberland, PA; Timothy (Tracy) Barnhart, Cambridge, MA; Ellen Barnhart, Ireland; Samantha Barnhart, England; and Clark Barnhart, Cambridge, MA.
