It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott M. Greenawalt on January 23, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport. He was 60 years old. At the time of his death, he resided at the Williamsport South Nursing Home.

Born on August 27, 1963 in Williamsport, PA, Scott attended the School of Hope and later Hope Enterprise workshop. He also attended The Arc in Hawaii, while residing there.

Scott participated in Special Olympics in both PA and Hawaii. He loved bowling and in his younger years also enjoyed golfing. Scott was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and cheered for Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles football teams. Scott traveled throughout the United States and made several trips to Europe.

He lived in Hawaii for a short time and often entertained his family with his hula dance.
Scott’s love of cheeseburgers and coke was well known within his circle of friends and family. He loved socializing, spending time with his family and watching the Yankees.

Surviving are his sisters Cindy Bures (Alfons) of Bitburg Germany, Sandra Polen (Matthew) of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Lynn Greenawalt of Montoursville, PA
Susan Williams (Tom) of Milton, PA, Tami Smith (Matthew) of Jersey Shore PA and his uncle, Richard Fischer (Linda), of New York, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Greenawalt, his stepfather, William Keefer, his brothers Dennis and William Greenawalt, and uncle, Paul Fischer.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
