David F. LeFever, 76, of Loyalsock Township, passed away peacefully at the WeCare Nursing Facility, Montoursville, where he received tender loving care over the past 7 years. David was born July 10, 1947, the son of Frederick and Grace (Winter) LeFever.
David graduated class of 1965 from Montoursville High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and spent his active duty aboard the USS Nitro Ammunition Ship in the Mediterranean.
David was employed by PPL and retired from there after 40 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and lover of the outdoors. For over 5 decades, he was a member of the Pine Stump Gun Club. He was a life member of the BASS Anglers Sportsman Society, a past member of the West Branch Motorboat Association, and several tractor pulling clubs.
David loved coaching Loyalsock Little League and American Legion Baseball. He was a Yankees, Penn State, and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed watching all sports in general.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years; Vickie (Clees) LeFever; daughters Leslie (Bob) Mertz of Muncy, Laurie (Alex Paulhamus) LeFever of Linden; son Daniel (Rachel) LeFever of Montoursville; grandchildren, Jacob Dame, Shelby Hoover, Wyatt Hoover, Kayla LeFever, Scott Mertz; mother-in-law, Joyce Clees; brother-in-law, Scott Clees.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by brother and sister-in-law, Steve, and Theresa Clees.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, February 16, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Drive Montoursville. The burial will be private.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Eugene Grafius Post 104, 1312 Broad Street Montoursville, PA 17754, to honor our military veterans.
