Walter L. Hauck, 69, of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born March 20, 1954, he was the son of Roy E., Jr. and Ada Mae (Reynolds) Hauck, of Watsontown.

Walter was a 1972 graduate of Warrior Run High School. Afterwards, he honorably served in the US Army. Earlier in life, he worked for Continental Can Company, and later as a State Corrections Officer at SCI Rockview and SCI Coal Township, where he retired.

He enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies, Dallas Cowboys, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved model trains and watching Westerns.

Walter cherished any time spent with family.

In addition to his parents, Walter is survived by a son, Tristan Hauck, and his wife, Carissa, New Columbia; a daughter, Sherry Hauck-Reynolds and her husband, Francis, Hughesville; four grandchildren, McKenzie Hauck, Elizabeth Hauck, Austin Straub, and Jonathan Straub; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Karen Davenport.

Walter was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Kaiden.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, PC, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, where the memorial service will be held at 6:00PM.
