Jeanne Russell, who loved to be called Mom, Grammy, Nanny, Aunt and friend, departed her loving family on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
Jeanne was born in Jersey Shore on January 3, 1949, to Elouise “Susie” (Pfirman) and Marvin “Gene” Yorks.
Jeanne was mom to Tom and Sue. She raised her children with love and devotion in Elimsport with her husband Terry.
Jeanne’s hobbies included reading, crocheting, camping, ceramics, playing cards, bell and lighthouse collecting, and spending time with her family. She was at her happiest when she was with her grandsons.
Some of Jeanne’s favorite things to do included having coffee with her neighbors, picnicking with family, spending time with her dog Mackie, and being, “mean, miserable and rotten.” Whether she was zip lining, white water rafting down the Talkeetna River or parasailing over the Atlantic, Jeanne was fearless!
She is survived by her loving husband Terry, son Tom and daughter-in-law Darleen, daughter Sue and son-in-law Jay, grandsons Derek, Kyle, MacRay, three step grandsons, seven step great-grandsons and one step great, great grandson. Her family also includes her twin sister Joan and brother Ward, aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Elimsport United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 4 pm. A social gathering to celebrate Jeanne’s memory will be held at the Elimsport Fire Hall immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Footprints of Montgomery Food Pantry can be made in Jeanne’s name.
Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
