Everything is all ready for the invasion of Philadelphia by Garrett Cochran Post 1 American Legion. A large delegation of the members and the band will leave Williamsport this evening on the special Sixteenth District train on the Pennsylvania Railroad for the eighth annual Legion convention which this week will be held in the sesqui city.

Although some of the Garrett Cochran Post members left Saturday for Philadelphia and others left yesterday, the main delegation and the band will start tonight at 10:45 and will occupy four special Pullmans. The band will leave the post home on West Fourth street at 8 o’clock, headed by Phillip Shay, manager of the musical organization and will stage a short parade through the business section before going to the train and the Park Hotel station. It was announced that legionaires from Lycoming, Potter, Clinton, and Tioga counties will be in the line.

The special train will be parked for three days in the North Philadelphia yards of the Pennsy. This train will provide quarters for the band members of the post and its auxiliary during its sojourn in the city.

Tomorrow the big parade of the Legion hosts will be held, and it is in this pageant that the Garrett Cochran post band will be expected to shine. Fifteen bands will be selected from those participating in the parade for the first contest and on Wednesday three of these musical organizations will be in the contest for prizes. That the local band will capture one of the prizes is expected. The band had a rehearsal at the state armory yesterday and all of members were in fine fettle. Their new uniforms attracted much attention at the rehearsal.
