The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host the program, “Kindergarten Prep!” for children starting kindergarten in the fall.
Drop off your child to practice some kindergarten skills. During this program your child will explore math, science, early literacy tasks, cut with scissors, learn to line up, and practice building independence skills.
If your child has a backpack, please have them wear it. This will help them build some independence skills and introduce them to caring for their belongings in a group setting.
According to program facilitator Jacquie Weaver, this program will introduce children to the folder system, learn about small classroom expectations and include station-based activities. There also will be a book read each day so that children can learn early literacy skills. For more information about the program, contact Jacquie at jweaver@jvbrown.edu or 570-326-0536, ext. 115.
The program will take place from 2:30-3:15 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 5-7, in the Blue Program Room on the first floor of the children’s wing.
Registration is open, and is limited in size. Registrations may be made at calendar.jvbrown.edu or by calling 570-326-0536.
