Lee Merril Rauch, 95

Lee Merril Rauch of Nippenose Valley, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Lee was born January 20th, 1927 in Rauchtown, PA, son of Newton and Minnie (Krape) Rauch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mavis (Welshans) Rauch. Lee and Mavis shared a special bond and love between them in their 45 years, and he truly will be missed. Three sons, Donnie (Frieda) Rauch, Gary Rauch, and Denny (Lori) Rauch; one daughter, Deborah (Danny) Meixel; six grandchildren, Mike Rauch, Kyle Rauch, Jason Rauch, Nick Rauch, Jennifer Brooks, and Dannylee Meixel; eleven great-grandchildren, Camille, Cada, Afton, George, Alexis, Bryson, Britaney, Darian, Emma, Sidney, and Stuart; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Barry L. Rauch; three brothers, Ralph A. Rauch, Sr., Guy V. Rauch, and Forest H. Rauch.

Lee attended Jersey Shore High School and then enlisted into the Navy and served his country in WWII. He worked at Piper Aircraft for 30 years and Lee and his wife, Mavis ran a greenhouse business for many years in the valley. Lee was an avid gardener and loved hunting, always looking forward to getting that big buck. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and swapping stories. Lee was of Christian faith and always quoted treat everyone as you would want to be treated.

Family and friends may gather at Oval Methodist Church 6796 PA-44 Jersey Shore, PA 17740, for a life celebration on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Daniel Havrilla.

Interment will be at Limestone Lutheran Cemetery in a private ceremony at the family’s convenience with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.

The Rauch family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, and nursing staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for the care of our loving father and husband Lee Rauch.

Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
