Doris I. Bower, 87, of Montoursville, passed away May 2, 2022 at her residence with her two sons and her dog, Abby by her side.
She was born November 2, 1934, in Slocum Township, Luzerne County, daughter of Earl and Mabel (Smith) Rinehimer.
Doris had worked at the former GTA Sylvania and was the manager at Musterseed Mercantile. She was a member of Muncy Presbyterian Church and was the former Deaconess. Doris enjoyed knitting and shopping with her friend, Pat Shearer. She was an avid sports fan, especially her grandchildren’s sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Loren J. Bower.
She is survived by two sons, Wendell L. Bower of Berwick, and Kirk J. (Michelle) Bower of Williamsport; sister, Sarah Taney of Wapwallopen; and two grandsons, Dylan and Ian.
There will be a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Muncy Presbyterian Church, 6 East Penn Street, Muncy, PA 17756. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lycoming County S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
