Susan Marie (Cuba) Wentzel, 76, of Castanea, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her home.

Born in Lock Haven on April 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence James Cuba, Sr. and Mary Pricilla (Lommock) Cuba.

Susan was a 1963 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Lock Haven. She obtained her degree in nursing from the former Centre County Vo-Tech School of Practical Nursing of Pleasant Gap.

Susan retired as an LPN from the former Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit after many years of service.

On January 22, 2000 in Lock Haven, she married Steven A. Wentzel, who survives in Castanea.

Susan was an avid crafter and enjoyed painting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Francis David (Karen Lehman) Conklin, Jr. of Pleasant Gap; two daughters, Mary C. (Steve) Hackenberg of South Carolina and Nicole Conklin of Coatesville; four siblings, Valerie Cuba (Howard) Winner of Mingoville, Michael (Vivan) Cuba of Missouri, Lawrence (Linda) Cuba, Jr. of Ohio and Robert Cuba (Pam Young) of Dunnstown; two grandchildren, Eirian and Kylie Hackenberg; two step-children, Charles (Maureen) Wentzel of Marysville and Daniel (Jill) Wentzel of Boyerstown; and two step-grandchildren, Rose and Sarah Wentzel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark A. Conklin.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA with Pastor Tim Boger officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until the start of the service.

Private burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lock Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home payable to Clinton County SPCA.
