D. Richard “The Farmer” Snyder, 86, of PA, passed away on November 14, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna.
He was born November 12, 1935 in Williamsport, son of the late Donald L. and Ruth (Stiger) Snyder.
Dick was a lifelong farmer, he owned and operated Snyder Farm which is known for their sweet corn and mazes. The business is continued today by his sons. He enjoyed farming and was an award-winning farmer, he enjoyed playing cards, occasional trips to the casinos, and playing horseshoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, the former Faye M. Smith; second wife, Lois Scaife; and sister, Sharon Weisensale.
He is survived by sons, Scott W. (Susan) Snyder, Richard D. Snyder, Bret D. (Amy) Snyder, and Troy A. Snyder, all of Montoursville; daughter, Robyn S. (Mark) Walters of Peterboro, Canada; step brothers, Steven (Pam) Sowers of California and Williams Sowers of Florida; sisters, Susan (Brett) Barton of Barbours and Donna Snyder of Montoursville; three grandchildren, Lee (Kelly), Skyler, and Blade; and one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn.
