Elwin D. “Red” Roberts, 86

Elwin D. “Red” Roberts, 86, of Loyalsock Township, passed away on October 7, 2021 at his residence.

He was born August 23, 1935 in Sampson County, North Carolina, son of the late Wilbur and Mildred (Coltren) Roberts.

Elwin served in the Air Force for 21 years and was a Vietnam War veteran. He retired as an Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Administration, he also retired from the Lockheed Martin, and was a manager at the Flight Service Station in Montoursville. He was a member of Northway Presbyterian Church, enjoyed working on automobiles, and anything mechanical. He also loved to travel, he visited all 50 states, and enjoyed ball room dancing with his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Joseph; and a sister, Debbie King.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Suzie Kim; his children, Thomas A. (Kristine) Roberts, Lois (Rene) Blanco, and Tammy Subarton; three grandchildren, Ian and Renee Blanco, and Sam Subarton; brothers, Delmas (Joyce) Roberts, and Bobby (Pat) Roberts; and a sister, Sue (William) Holland.

There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 with Pastor Rob Manzinger officiating, with a viewing for family and friends starting at 12:30 p.m. at Spitler Funeral home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers contributions made by made to UPMC Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home.
