Hey y’all! I’m so excited for Easter this weekend! I have always loved putting together Easter baskets and can’t wait to put together some Easter surprises this year!

But before I get too far into my Easter fun, let’s get to the good stuff! We have the winners in our First Annual Webb Weekly Easter Egg Hunt!

In case you are curious — the final total was 116 Easter Friends. I did also accept 118 as the total. The reason being that there was a copy of the Home Improvement cover on the cover of the regular paper on March 17th and some people counted the eggs on that one too, so both numbers are correct. There were 71 (or 73) eggs and bunnies in the March 17th edition and 45 in the March 24th edition!

We want to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone who entered! Because of all of your counting, we will be donating $500 to the Beckoning Cat Project! Seriously, y’all are amazing! I received a ton of entries in the contest and can’t wait to continue the tradition next year! Of course, we’ll have another one for Halloween in October too! And as always, thank you to Jimmy for always giving a little extra in these contests! The kitties appreciate it!

Are you tired of the same ol’ Easter Egg Hunt? Here are some ideas to put a new spin on the Easter classic!
Lego Eggs

If your kids are Lego fans, split up a new Lego set — maybe the Easter-themed one? — into different plastic eggs. Once they’re done finding all the eggs, they can spend the rest of the morning putting the set together!
Sensory Search

If you have a kiddie pool, rice table or sandbox, bury some eggs and give kids shovels and scoopers and tell them to dig in! (And if you don’t, it’s easy to whip up a bin of rainbow rice or bubbly water.) It’ll be a sensory experience for them, exposing them to different textures.
Ball Pit Challenge

If you have a water table or kiddie pool, you can also fill it with ball pit balls and hide eggs in there. It’s hard to tell the plastic eggs from the ball pit balls, so you might want to use different colors to distinguish them, like pairing pastel balls with metallic eggs.
Privilege Egg Hunt

Opt for “privilege” notes instead of candy, which offers children special time with mom and dad, an extra fifteen minutes before bedtime, more screen time or even getting out of eating their veggies.
Puzzle Piece Egg Hunt

Add an Easter message or a cute design to a blank puzzle before hiding individual puzzle pieces in eggs. After all eggs have been collected, ask the kids to put together their “prize.”
Eggs-ercise Hunt

Make exercise fun by giving kids fun tasks like touching their toes, hopping like a bunny or doing ten jumping jacks — as long as they’re moving!
